"Frida Kahlo, Beyond the Icon" immmersive exhibition in Athens, Greece

06 February 2026 | 12 July 2026

Presented at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center (254 Pireos) - Athens,  the show uses advanced digital tools, interactive installations, and virtual reality to delve into Frida Kahlo's biography and artistic legacy.

As the title suggests, the exhibition explores her life, which is full of emotional struggles, physical hardships, and never-ending adventures, rather than just her work as a visual artistic legacy. It reveals Frida not only as a famous artist but also as a person who turned suffering, resistance, and her own story into universal art through this multi-layered narrative, highlighting the profound connection between lived experience and artistic expression.

Among the main topics described by the exhibition:

"THE ALTAR" dedicated to the Day of the Dead (Dia de Muertos)

"THE MOMENT when time stopped", a specialized digital installation that uses three-dimensional projections to recreate the life-altering bus accident Frida experienced in 1925

"THE DREAM", a multimedia installation centered on Frida's bed, the intimate space where she spent much of her life recovering and creating art.
