"Frida Kahlo" solo exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler in Switzerland

31 January 2027 | 17 May 2027

The Fondation Beyeler will host a significant solo exhibition at the start of the year that is entirely centered on the artistic creations of Frida Kahlo (1907–1954). The exhibition, which includes about 50 paintings, represents about one-third of her total body of work. Fifteen distinctive drawings will also be on exhibit. Being the first monographic exhibition of Frida Kahlo in Switzerland, it provides a thorough overview of her body of work as well as a rare chance to view many of her most important works in their original form, which are rarely seen in Europe.

Frida Kahlo's artistic growth from the 1920s to the 1950s is chronicled in the exhibition.

Her iconic and captivating self-portraits are at its core. Visitors will also see her striking portraits of friends and family as well as her carefully layered still lifes. Life and art, tradition and innovation, reality, dreams, and fantasy all come together to create a very unique visual language in Kahlo's potent and expressive works.

In due course, the Foundation will announce the Early Bird ticket release. Check the exhibition website below.
