A Korean musical on Frida will premiere on March 1st at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts

08 January 2022

On Jan 6th, the Korean EMK Musical Company announced the casting of the musical ‘Frida’ - performing from March to June 2022 - along with the main poster.

The "Frida" poster stands out with the "Frida" emblem, which appears to be wearing a vibrant flower crown against a green canvas-textured background, evoking her professional surroundings.
The playwriter wanted to create the best presentation for Frida Kahlo who sublimated her former life into art, and he unravels Frida's last existence through a new concept and format of a show.
With a unique, dramatic music, composer Huh Soo-hyun aims to magnificently unveil the show that 'Frida' will fit at the conclusion of her life.
Frida, as a guest of 'The Last Night Show, tells the story of her life together with Reflejar, Destino, and Memoria, who curiously reveal episodes of her childhood and the individuals she met at the end of her life.

On the stage, talented performers were hired to portray Frida's life.
Choi Jeong-won and Kim So-hyang were cast in the roles of 'Frida,' a woman who loved her life passionately and fiercely and dedicated her entire body to creative work, turning agony into ecstasy.
Choi Jeong-won, a living legend of Korean musicals, portrays the part of 'Frida,' who must express the life of 'Frida' by dancing and singing while wandering the stage for 100 minutes.
