The production is a collaboration with the Frida Kahlo Museum “Casa Azul” and the Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum in Mexico City, with the patronage of the Mexican Embassy in Italy.
The relationship between Frida and Diego is the beating heart of the narrative: a boundless, radical, imperfect love that becomes both an alliance and a clash, passion and ideology—a bond that endures infidelity, triumphs, and personal and collective revolutions. Framing it all is the colorful, joyful, and irreverent Mexico of La Catrina, where life and death dance together to the rhythm of art—a Mexico with Aztec roots where music envelops everything and everyone in a continuous song to life.
Frida Opera Musical is a hymn to the freedom to be and the courage of art.
It is a declaration of love for life, even when it hurts.
Frida Opera Musical is Frida and the world she inflamed with her gaze.
