09 October 2026 | 18 December 2026The immersive art venue located in the former limestone mine known locally as Carrières des Lumières announced the official program change, replacing Picasso with "Matisse + Frida Kahlo" from 9 October 2026.
In the immersive exhibition "Frida Kahlo. At the Very Heart" the walls of the Carrières des Lumières are transformed through monumental projections to reflect the rhythm of Frida's life, from her more assertive paintings that explode with the power of her identity and commitment to her early works marked by physical suffering and the search for self. The evolution of an artist who turned suffering into art, frailty into strength, and the personal into the universal is reflected in the life of plant, organic, and anatomical motifs.
